A Bookworms Perspective

The month of October is the month of many things from Halloween, the wonderful fall season and even my own birthday. What many people don't know is that in the United States of America, it is a month long celebration of the joy of reading and publishing books. From a young age I have always loved reading as it allowed me to escape to many imaginary places. Whether it's a in forest chasing after a fire breathing dragon or the fantasy world of magic to even the neon glow of a cyberpunk dystopian future, you can bet that I was probably reading it growing up.

My love for books has never left me which is why I am writing this article because books are something which should be shared and furthermore the reason why I am going to share a list of my favourite books.

  • Ready Player One - Ernest Cline
  • Land by Maggie O'Farrell
  • The Secret History - Donna Tartt
  • On Palestine - Noam Chomsky
  • Long Walk To Freedom - Nelson Mandela
  • HOPE: The Autobiography - Pope Francis
  • Hunger Games Trilogy - Suzanne Collins
  • Conversations with Friends - Sally Rooney
  • Becoming - Michelle Obama
  • The Secret River - Kate Grenville
  • Normal People - Sally Rooney

My hope is that you can find something out of this list and if you haven't picked up a book in a while, maybe pick up one of my favourites and see if it can spark some joy as it did with me all those years ago.
